About
Valerie Brown
Valerie Brown, founder of Eagle Rock Community Acupuncture, is licensed
with the California Board of Acupuncture and is board certified
by the National Certification Commission of Acupuncture and Oriental
Medicine (NCCAOM).
She graduated with a Masters Degree in Oriental Medicine from the
International Institute of Chinese Medicine in New Mexico. While
working towards her Master’s Degree, she interned at Chengdu
University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in the Sichuan Province
of China where she worked in collaboration with the university’s
affiliated hospital doctors administering in–patient treatments.
With over eleven years of clinical experience, Valerie has practiced
in Santa Fe, NM, Atlanta, GA and Los Angeles. In Atlanta, she owned
and operated one of the largest practices in the city. With her
relocation to Los Angeles came the opportunity to fulfill her desire
to practice community acupuncture, which she experienced in China.
Under the Chinese healthcare systems patients receive acupuncture
treatments several times per week; they are treated often and until
health is restored. Valerie sees the community acupuncture model
as the most effective way to restoring health and believes patients
in the United States should also have it available. Her goal is
to make quality healthcare accessible to all.
